The Indian Education of Lewis & Clark

with Hal Stearns

historian, storyteller, guide

A soldier-humanist, retired general Dr. Hal Stearns has traveled the trail from Monticello to Fort Clatsop. In this presentation, he is Captain William Clark looking back in time. Without question, the Corps to the Northwest needed Native Americans to succeed in accomplishing their two-plus year trip. Indians provided knowledge, food, great generosity, stories, and momentous moments. The trek West by the Corps was and is America's great land expedition. Indians and "Indian ways" added much to their success. This story is a great expression of "Indian Education for All."
