As the Montana Center for the Book, we support public book clubs in rural communities that engage in thought-provoking discussions about literature. Big Sky Reads is also a Facebook group! This is a great resource to find new books, new participants, discussion questions, and facilitators. It is also a place to build our statewide community of readers. Jump into the conversation.

As the funding landscape for federal agencies continues to evolve, Humanities Montana is following guidance as released by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). For information regarding recent Executive Orders and their impact on the NEH, visit the NEH website.

Eligibility

Nonprofit organizations, accredited institutions of higher education, state or local government or one of their agencies (schools, libraries, museums, etc.), federally recognized Native American Tribal governments, and tribal organizations. A Unique Entity ID (UEI) and Federal Tax ID (EIN) are required to apply.

Application Deadlines:

Rolling Submission Deadline ( Dependent on funding availability)
Applications can be submitted anytime, and are reviewed monthly.

Grant Term
Up to 12 months from the date of an award announcement. Organizations may apply once every 12 months.

Award Notification
Applicants will hear back within 30 days of application submission.
