
Visiting Writers Program: Maira and Alex Kalman
Elk River Arts & Lectures features internationally acclaimed artists and authors Maira and Alex Kalman for in a public lecture.
Maira has written and illustrated twenty-eight adult and children’s books, and is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker. Her son Alex is a creative director, curator, and inventor. Recently, the two collaborated on a visual memoir and tribute to Maira’s mother, featuring paintings, handwritten text, and photographs that illustrate the life of a remarkable woman.
The Elk River Arts & Lectures is asking for a minimum donation of $5 at the door, and advance tickets will be available at Elk River Books in Livingston beginning Monday, Aug. 5.
The Kalman Lecture is supported through an Opportunity Grant from Humanities Montana.
